Rosie lost 17.8kgs and 21.24% body weight
I was feeling incredibly unhealthy and uncomfortable in my own body. I had tried every diet under the sun (nothing worked) and simple everyday things like getting in and out of the car felt hard, my breathing was affected, and I found myself withdrawing socially and hiding from the world.
Fashion is my fun in life, it is an outlet to a daily life full of challenges, and before I lost the weight, I was just wearing black clothes and not the clothes I loved. I wanted to look good in my clothes again and just to get back to myself. Now I can wear absolutely anything from my wardrobe and wear matching pjs with my daughter!
The team at Healthies have supported me so well. They encourage me to show up every week and prioritising this has been a game changer – I really feel the love and support! It has such a lovely community vibe and over the years I have continued to return as they never gave up on me even when I felt I had given up on myself at times. I’ve always been welcomed with open arms, and for that I am so grateful.

I had been saying for ages that I need to do something about my weight and improve my fitness, etc. I had seen photos of myself looking quite rotund and I was really filling out my clothes.
My lightbulb moment happened when my mum was in hospital in a diabolical state and my brother suffered a stroke and was on the same floor in the same hospital! I was staring at the ceiling, planning my visit to them both and thinking that this had to be the time to reimagine my life and what I wanted for my future self. I decided that I really am worth investing in. I have a lot of people depending on me. That prevention is better than a cure – and yes (with an expletive or two), I am worth it!!!

I had struggled with my weight for years. I was in total denial – I thought I looked ok until I saw photos of myself, and then would promptly delete them. I had no self-control and would eat and drink whatever I felt like, telling myself you only live once! When in reality I felt so sick of myself, I hated being the fat jokey friend.
I knew of people who had attended Healthy Inspirations, so I thought why not. I knew I couldn’t do it by myself and needed accountability. And the rest they say is history. I would never have believed it possible to lose the weight I have.
The encouragement, tips and support has been amazing from both the staff and fellow Healthies members who are now friends. I’ve lost the weight and found myself again. I feel so much better and have so much more energy. The joy of being able to shop for clothes not in the big girls’ section is fabulous.
