Most commercial mayonnaise has added sugar: here’s a really simple healthy homemade version that’s great added to salads, roll-ups and served with chicken.


1 egg yolk
1 tsp mustard
2 tsp balsamic vinegar
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
handful basil, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup macadamia (or olive) oil


  1. Combine all ingredients except the oil in a blender. Blend thoroughly.
  2. With the blender running, gradually drizzle the oil into the other ingredients until the mix turns creamy.
