Lost 4.5 kilos in the 12 Week Beat the Winter Blues Challenge

I entered the Beat the Winter Blues 12 Week challenge because I needed a challenge, of limited duration, to kick start me into healthier eating. It felt do-able. Long enough to make new habits, but also short enough to see an end.

I have discovered more deeply how much my eating is related to my own emotions, and my perceptions of what others think.

The weekly coaching is invaluable! I would definitely have given up without it. They challenged me with my perception of others, and to try saying I wouldn’t have the cakes at morning tea at work. It was wonderful to realise that no one was bothered by that at all!

Try it – nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Some things that have really worked for me are:

  1. Slow and steady isn’t bad when it come to weight loss.
  2. It isn’t a diet, rather a healthier way of eating which is of benefit no matter what you weigh.
  3. Celebrate your achievements. Don’t be forced into eating or not eating anything from a (probably false) view of what others’ think.
