Lost 13.3kg and 53cm – That’s 18.97% of her body weight
The last few years has seen my weight yo-yo. I was tired, carbs became my best friend and anxiety tablets helped keep my emotions at bay. Menopause was a big problem for me and it really made it hard to do anything. I was sleeping a lot and constantly nauseous. It started to affect my family life and to be honest I didn’t even realise how much weight I had gained as weight loss and exercise just weren’t on my agenda.
Sadly I also lost my dad and both my in laws and everything really started to take its toll. Life just got too hard at times and I would sit at home crying and my anxiety was at an all-time high. Not one to share I kept a lot to myself. Then Coach Lynne rang me out of the blue one day and I took it as a sign that I was meant to return to Healthy Inspirations (I had been a previous member 2 years earlier).
I had a holiday to Hawaii planned in 3 months and the centre’s 12 week challenge was great timing for me and I was completely on board. I love a challenge but most importantly needed the 1 on 1 support and accountability. I set a goal of 57kg and stuck at it. I took my H.I food planner everywhere and each week I set a new goal and recorded my food intake and exercise. That little planner was my best friend and little by little I felt better and not so tired.
I really gave it my all and I was rewarded at the end of the 12 week challenge. When I weighed in I HAD DONE IT by losing 13.3kgs, 53cms & 18.97% of my body weight.
The support I get from the H.I coaches and my hubby (my biggest fan, love him) is what I needed to achieve this and simply giving the challenge my focus. I simply never gave up and simply kept turning up to the centre. I knew as soon as I walked in the door there is all the motivation, encouragement and support I need to be a healthy me from both the coaches and the members alike.
Life is different now. The past 3 months have changed that. I went shopping amongst my wardrobe and had the best time and even wear a bikini! I can’t recommend enough to take the journey with H.I, to reap the rewards and become the best version of you that you can be. You deserve nothing less, our health is our gold medal and I feel fabulous when I look at my after photo.
My top 3 tips are:
- Use your food planner everyday just like a diary as it will keep you on task. I took mine everywhere I went and find that it is so little that I keep it with my mobile phone. I would always bring it to the shops as it reminds me of all the healthy foods you can eat on the plan.
- I took my water bottle and on plan H.I protein snacks everywhere. I had them handy at home or in my car for the mid-morning/late afternoon cravings. On the weekends I would have a lemon & ginger tea with my H.I snack for my time out.
- Book your weekly nutrition check-ins in advance. When I started I booked these all in for the challenge and wrote them in my planner, diary and phone. You can always change them if need be. But it kept me accountable and determined not to sabotage my efforts. In between my check-ins I would set small goals which played an important part for me in reaching my goal.
