Lost 7kgs and 11% of her body weight

Here I am 18 months into my journey towards a healthier person! I approached Healthy Inspirations because I needed help. I was over-indulging in what life had to offer by way of food and wine. Feeling bloated, tired and gaining weight, I found I could not zip up my trousers. I was stressed at work and my mother had been very unwell, the combination of which wasn’t doing my mental health any favours.

I spent a short period of time at a gym but found it extremely boring and not very inspiring. Instead, I found myself walking past Healthy Inspirations feeling a good vibe and could see the coaches and participants enjoying the task they were undertaking.

It was time for me to take action and Healthy Inspirations was where I decided it was going to happen. With the help of the coaches I was steered in the right direction. Together we worked on a nutrition plan, changing my mind set from over-indulging. And I started exercising my body and mind. An important feature of the plan is being mindful. This is an exercise in itself. Attending birthday parties and functions are challenges, but being mindful of your environment and what’s on the table in front of you, or available on the menu, will exercise your discretion in making the best choices.

Losing the weight and keeping physically fit has made me feel lighter. I have more energy and can now zip up my trousers. I am enjoying my journey and when I slip up or forget my plan, which I do from time to time, I go back to it and talk to my coach at Healthy Inspirations.

  1. Commit to the Healthies nutrition plan as there is a large selection of foods that will cater for everyone’s needs.
  2. Don’t stress over parties, functions and weekends away. Simply be mindful of your environment and choose wisely.
  3. Keep moving. Grab a friend and go on short walks, long walks, fast and slow walks, and often. If you can walk to your local shopping centre then do it. I also attended classes as I enjoy them.
  4. Validation and support – seek out the company of people who will validate and support you in your efforts..
