Lost 20.3kgs and 21.39% of her body weight

Over the years my weight came on gradually mainly due to stress, as well as sadly losing my brother which saw me put on 10kgs in a year alone.

My body was in a lot of pain because of all the extra pressure on my joints, and I was seeing the Physio next door to Healthies when I noticed a flyer about what they do. I decided to pop in on the spot, joined and I have never looked back.

I have tried to lose weight in the past with other programs, but none of them worked as the weight just came back on. But this has been the best thing I have done for myself! Not just for my weight but my mental and physical health too. I have now lost 20.3kgs and have had many significant health benefits too. My reflux has stopped, my sugar levels and blood pressure are both normal now and my joint pain has gone.

When I was carrying too much weight I could not even play with my grandchildren as I was just too puffed and could not get down onto the ground to play with them. That has all changed now which makes me feel great to be active with them.

The eating plan is easy, especially when I plan my meals for the week ahead of time. The biggest challenge I face food wise is that I fast a few times a year for my faith. However, with the Health Coaches we have been able to work on alternatives to my meals (when I am abstaining from eating meat and dairy) and I have continued to lose weight over this time.

My family have been so supportive with my journey, and friends have noticed too. My self-confidence has really grown, and I also wore a dress to a wedding that I had not been away to wear for over 8 years!

Healthy Inspirations is such a good environment, all the members and team are just so happy, and I really look forward to my visits to the centre.

My top tips are:

  1. Work with the Health Coaches at Healthy Inspirations. The plan is all mapped out and they help me stay motivated and keep me accountable to my goals.
  2. Plan your meals for the week as it saves time and you exactly what you plan on eating.
  3. Incorporate some exercise into your day. I use the circuit at Healthies and I can see how much my shape has changed. Even as I am losing weight my skin is not flabby, it is more toned.
