Lost 2.7 kilos in the 12 Week Beat the Winter Blues Challenge

I entered the Beat the Winter Blues 12 Week challenge to get fit and healthy for my daughter, finding ways to eat better, to lose weight, extra energy and sleep well.

I enjoyed doing the different task each week. Seeing what other people have done, knowing we are not alone and comfortable sharing what I have done.

I broke my toe which was an unexpected challenge but having the supportive Zoom meeting helped me stay on track and I didn’t put on too much weight.

The weekly coaching is amazing. I wouldn’t be able to do this on my own at the start. I find the coach session once a week helped a lot for me.

When someone asks me what have I been doing I say, “This is what I’ve been up to then explain what this programme is all about. Have a read and give it a go.”

Some things that have really worked for me are:

  1. Follow the guidelines for each stage. Write everything down, planning and only buy what you are cooking.
  2. Doing the mindsets and reading the vision statement is important to stay positive and to feel good about yourself.
  3. Only weigh yourself once a week and get a good bed time routine as sleep is very important.
