We get asked this question all the time “How much does your program cost?”
So how do we answer this question in a way that makes it seem good value and justifies your cost outlay, saves you time and the potential frustration of not getting the results you want. Some programs may even require a special skill or lots of study!
Comparing our coaching program to a gym access membership and expecting the same result is like comparing apples to bananas.
There is probably no other weight loss program in the world (at least not in Australia or New Zealand) that helps you work out your individual carbohydrate tolerance so that you learn what foods and drinks, and the amounts, your body needs for maximum nutrient density, weight loss, weight management and long-term health.
Is the cost of a coffee a day too little or too much to pay?
If what you have been doing simply has not been working for you and is not giving you the health, and life you would like, perhaps the first thing is making a shift in your beliefs and habits to encourage change for good.
Is not your health the one thing that determines the way you live, the enjoyment you have, the quality of each day, your positivity, your ability to enjoy the love of family and friends?
Some of the best decisions we make are not what we start doing but what we stop doing. Sometimes we need to stop old habits and kickstart some new habits to stop holding ourselves back due to old beliefs.
Most of us know through marketing campaigns and science and research, that cigarettes, drugs and alcohol are not good for our health. If you have any bad habits such as these, have you added up the financial cost as well as the health cost? How do you answer the questions “What is this costing me?” and “What is my excess weight costing me?”
On average people with diagnosed diabetes have medical expenditures approximately 2.3 times higher than people without diabetes.
Being overweight increases the risks of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Some extra costs could include ambulatory services, hospitalisation, prescription medication, blood glucose meters and strips, not to mention time off work or home duties when you’re not at your best.
What are some other ways to look at how you can make some savings so you feel confident to move forward on a program that covers the financial side as well as any extra time you imagine may be required.
Here’s a list of 6 ways you can make simple savings to cover the cost of your weight loss membership.
- Cooking enough dinner to have leftovers for lunch the next day. What would you save in time and money by cooking up 2 meals at once? Cooking more meals at home gives you more money, a healthier body, and better brain health.
- Foregoing a bought coffee each day – saving up to $5 a cup. Most people can’t stop at the coffee and often a muffin, piece of cake or a biscuit are purchased as well. Now we’re looking at up to $10 a day.
- Look at your alcohol consumption each week – could you have 2 days alcohol-free – what would your saving be? For many people they can spend from $20 to $30 for a bottle of wine. If you’re out drinking you could spend this on one drink!!!!
- Buying clothes, having your nails done, highlights in your hair, a new pair of shoes when you have a dozen in your cupboard – are these essential or necessary? Perhaps reduce spending in this area and prioritising on your health may be a good investment?
- Walking instead of catching a bus, rail or driving a car. Now this may appear to reduce your time, but if you can factor in some exercise time, outdoors for some valuable Vitamin D and help with your circadian rhythm for better sleep, fresh air and perhaps even listen to a podcast or walk with a friend for social interaction.
- Cut down on unnecessary decisions – meal planning and meal-prep, laying out clothes and exercise gear the night before, pre-scheduling workout time and socialising allows you to focus on what’s important rather than what’s urgent.
If you manage your weight and health, it will repay you in years to come. That’s what we would call a good investment.
Don’t leave it up to the government or someone else – take the initiative, make yourself a priority – and ensure that your body and your mind remain in good health and add quality years to your life.
